I like to pick up the oldest and most tattered looking book and see what it is about. A good Novel is what I like. I am having fun weeding the Bird City Public Library, but it is sad to see all the fun go out, because I truely love to go on these hunts in my library.
And Beth, I still use the pictures from Flicker that you posted of our library. We are finally going to automate!

My grandmother's cousin, Georgia Hart from Huerfano County in Colorado wrote "Free Land For Sale." I would desperately love to buy your copy off of you, if at all possible. We have family ties to the book, and there are no copies anywhere. Please e-mail me if you have it and are willing to sell. Thank you!!! zoe_dreamgirl@yahoo.com

Hi Melissa,

Welcome to libraryland! Hope you're having fun in library school (what school are you attending?) and I'm glad to hear you're taking a look at library blogs - I learned a lot from reading them when I was a student - it'll definitely offer you a different perspective on your coursework.

I don't snap pics as often as you do, but I do keep a list of what I've read. Yesterday just finished "Free Land for Sale" by Georgia Hart. It's an out of print memoir that Floyd loaned me and it tells about homesteading in SE Colorado and specifically about a woman who is a friend of his mother's, so local connection. I don't think I would make a very good pioneer! At any rate I think it's great to keep track of what you read and fun to look back and see you read and when.
